Optimising cylinder lube-oil consumption

Visual evidence showed wet rings at 1.2 g/kWh: 20% over-lubrication that CCM benchmarking brought back to condition.

The pattern

On many vessels CLO dosing is kept high “just in case”. It is safe, but it wastes oil and money. Manual or conservative settings ignore actual liner wear rate, ring/crown/liner condition, residual oil analysis, load profile and fuel quality.

What CCM showed

Visual cues (wet rings, heavy scavenge deposits, oil pooling, or dry scratched surfaces) reveal over- or under-lubrication but are easy to miss. CCM correlates this evidence with feed rates and oil analysis, and benchmarks against the fleet average for the same engine type.
